Abstract
The use of Local Wisdom Context in Learning is one of the recommended focuses in the independent curriculum based on Permendikbudristek No.262/M/2022, Kemendikbud recommends the internalisation of local wisdom values in learning. This is in line with the Aceh Governor Regulation Number 01 of 2022 concerning the implementation of the Aceh Local Content Curriculum at SMA & SMK where SMAs are expected to include the value of local wisdom in general learning, besides that to support English learning with Contextual Learning models, teachers are also expected to be able to prepare Teaching Materials that are close to the local wisdom of students. This research aims to develop English language teaching tools based on Aceh local wisdom in Senior High Schools. The development method used is ADDIE which includes analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation with 3 product quality criteria (Nieveen, 1999) namely (1) validity, (2) practicality, and (3) effectiveness. The research was conducted in several schools in Banda Aceh that have implemented the Merdeka Curriculum, namely SMA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh, SMA Methodist Banda Aceh, and SMA Negeri 1 Banda Aceh. The results of the study are that the learning tools that have been developed are valid, practical and effective in learning English in reading, speaking, writing and listening competencies. In addition, this research also shows an increase in participation rates in learning English using teaching materials based on Acehnese local wisdom that has been developed.
